Day 120: Heber Valley North Pole Express

This day could easily be Rivers' favorite day in his little 2 1/2 years of life! He is fascinated by trains, is an avid Thomas & Friends fan, and this adventure let him ride a real train...to meet Santa! What could be better? The train ride starts in Heber City, and is run by the Heber Valley Railroad. It was about a 45 minute drive out of Salt Lake and past Park City, and was totally worth the ride. To top it off, it started snowing right when we got there.

This quaint little building is the depot (and gift shop)

Checking out the big red train!

Inside the gift shop - everything is trains, trains, trains! Rivers truly thought he was in heaven. He could hardly finish one thought without starting another "Mama! A train! Mama! A caboose! Mama! Thomas!"
Looking out the window during the ride. Little elves brought by chocolate chip cookies and hot chocolate!

Inside of the train. We sang Christmas songs, answered Christmas trivia questions and had a "Ho Ho Ho" competition on board.

Santa! Rivers told Santa that he wanted race cars and trains for Christmas :)

Santa gave him a silver bell from his sleigh!

The family in our keepsake photo :)
