Another day, another park! Today we visited
Heritage Park with our neighbors. It is a step back in time to the pioneer days. When you enter, you get to ride a little train to to the top of the park. This was a huge hit with Rivers! We rode in the red caboose.
Next we went into an old fashioned schoolhouse:

Rivers sat in the front row and we wrote his name on a slate
Our favorite part was the petting zoo! We saw pot belly pigs, goats, cows, ponies, rabbits and more, and they even had pony rides. Rivers was a little shy about petting (and riding) the animals, but he finally got brave enough to pet a baby goat! Clearly, Claire had no such reservations :)

Claire and Carson petting the pig. Rivers taking it all in.
|
She got a goat!

This is the goat Rivers pet - of course I was two seconds too late for the money shot :)
Next it was time for ice cream at the General Store!
And then Rivers walked out of there like a rock star :) It was nap time so we had to head out, but we'll be back to ride the little train around the pond, check out the tee pees, and see everything else we missed.
